Fix#1: Defective Pump or Pump Seal

The pump part, which is used for circulating water, usually contains filters and a wash impeller. The Pump part which is used for draining consists of a chopper blade, diverter and a drain impeller.

A rubber gasket will help in sealing the pump to the bottom of the tub. There will also be seals in the two compartments of pump (wash and drain) which helps in preventing any leakage of water. They can also be worn out and can create leak problems. Fix#2: Using Wrong Detergent
